ADMISSIONS AND STUDENT RECORDS

The Admissions and Student Records Section, which falls under the Registrar's Department, is situated on the Ground Floor of Zone B in the Administration Building. The Section handles all applications for Bachelors degree and postgraduate degree programmes, including diploma programmes and certificates courses for credit, while applications for non-credit short courses are handled by the Centre for Continuing Education.

Apart from processing applications for admission, the Section is also responsible for production of student and staff I.D. Cards, co-ordinating the registration of students, maintenance of records for all students, keeping scholarship records, dispatch of examination results to individual students, writing of students' transcripts, ordering of certificates and academic dress. The Section plays an active role in the preparation for graduation ceremonies, and conducts Elections for the Student Representative Council.

MissionThe department's mission is to receive and process all applications for admission efficiently, timeously and in a transparent manner, and to ensure that members of the public are received cordially and accorded good service. It is our aim to facilitate a rigorous, fair and above board admissions process culminating in the selection of students on the basis of merit, and to maintain accurate Student Records.

The Sections plays an active role in the preparation for graduation ceremonies, and conducts Elections for the Student Representative Council.
 
Currently, students can get their University Identity cards, records of their courses, examination results, transcripts and certificates from the student Records Section.It is envisaged that when the Admissions and Student Records Section is computerized students should have e-mail accounts and be able to access their examination results, fee balances, timetables and other relevant student records from the Section.This is not yet in place.
