The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences: -
- LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (3 POSTS)
Department of Actuarial, Insurance and Risk Management Sciences
POST A: QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS FOR BUSINESS (1 POST)
Applicants must hold a first degree in either Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or Operations Research. A Master’s degree in either of the subjects is a must. University teaching experience and a PhD in the relevant field will be added advantages.
POST B: LAW (2 POSTS)
Applicants must hold an Undergraduate degree and a Master’s degree in Law from a recognized university. The preferred areas of expertise include Commercial/ Business Law, Company Law, Banking Law and Insurance Law. University teaching experience and a PhD in the relevant field will be added advantages. Candidates applying for Associate Professorship/Professorship should have a good track record of research publications in the field of Law. The ideal candidate should be an effective communicator, with the ability to work well with diverse groups of people, and possess excellent listening and teamwork skills.

Applicants must be able to teach face-to-face and/or online, any one of the following modules offered at Master’s Level.
POST A: Management Information Systems (1 Post)
Applicants must possess at least a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems from a recognised university. They should also hold a 2.1 or better in the specified areas at undergraduate level. In addition, applicants must have at least two years’ tertiary level teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate students in Management Information Systems and to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, organisational effectiveness and community engagement. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in Management Information Systems will have an added advantage. Applications from holders of an MCom/MSc Degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science of Information Technology and have evidence of registration towards PhD studies and with at least five years’ post-qualification industry experience will also be considered. An earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent will be an added advantage.
POST B: Business Research Methods (1 Post)
Applicants must possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from a recognised university and have at least 5 publications in peer reviewed journals.
The successful candidate will amongst other things be expected to teach postgraduate students in
- Business Research Methods
- Periodically write grant winning project proposals.
- Forge partnerships and networks to advance the School’s research activities.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations and provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, organisational effectiveness and community engagement. Applicants with extensive research experience, independently or as a team will have an added advantage.
POST C: Production and Operations Management (1 Post)
Applicants must possess a Masters Degree in Production and Operations Management. Applicants must also have at least two years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning in Production and Operations Management. The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development and organisational effectiveness. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in Production and Operations Management will have an added advantage.
