- LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP
(6 POSTS)
Department of Computer Science
POST A: PROGRAMMING AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT (2 POSTS)
Applicants must be holders of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or any other similar degree approved by the department and a Master of Science Degree in at least one of the following: Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering and/or Computer Engineering or any other equivalent Masters degree approved by the department. Holders of PhD Degrees in any of the above disciplines will be given preference.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach the following: Programming, Advanced Database and Data Mining, Software Methodology, Research Methods at postgraduate level as well as teach similar courses at undergraduate level.
POST B: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (3 POSTS)
Applicants must be holders of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any other similar degree approved by the department and a Master of Science Degree in at least one of the following: Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematical Modelling, Operations Research and Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Holders of PhD Degrees in any of the above disciplines will be given preference.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach the following: Computational Discrete Mathematics, Evolutionary Computing & Parallel Distributed Processing and Computer Models & Simulation at postgraduate level as well as teach similar courses at undergraduate level such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
POST C: COMPUTER NETWORKS AND CYBER SECURITY (1 POST)
Applicants must be holders of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Computer Science or Networking engineering or any other similar degree approved by the department and a Master of Science Degree in at least one of the following: Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any other equivalent Masters degree approved by the department. Holders of PhD Degrees in any of the above disciplines will be given preference.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach the following: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Security and Auditing, Digital forensics, Network programming, Data Communication and networks, Computer ethics, Cloud Computing and Cyber Security.
- LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP
(2 POSTS)
Department of Sports Science and Coaching
POST A (1 POST)
The applicant must at least hold an MSc qualification in any one of the following areas: Sports Science and Coaching, Exercise Science, Biokinetics, Human Movement Studies or Sport. Having a PhD in a related/relevant Sports Science area is an advantage. Candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate modules in Strength and Conditioning and Rugby, Basketball or Cricket. Candidate will also be expected to supervise student research in Strength and Conditioning, and in one or more of Rugby, Cricket and Basketball.
POST B: SPORTS LAW (1 POST)
The applicant must at least hold an MSc qualification in any one of the following areas: Sports Science and Coaching, Exercise Science, Biokinetics, Human Movement Studies, Sport Management, Sports Psychology. Having a PhD in a related/relevant Sports Science area is an advantage. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate modules in sports psychology, sports management, sports law and to supervise students research in the same areas.
- RESEARCH FELLOW (2 POSTS)
Department of Applied Biology and Biochemistry
POST A: BIOCHEMISTRY
Applicants must be holders of BSc (Honours) in Biochemistry or Applied Biochemistry and with an MSc/MPhil in Biochemistry or Applied Biochemistry that includes strong training in molecular biology and analytical biochemistry. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct both independent and collaborative research in fields such as Biochemistry, Environmental Toxicology, Environmental Biochemistry, Applied Biochemistry, and related areas. Possession of a PhD in any of these fields is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage. A proven track record of applied research, evidenced through publications, project participation, or innovative contributions, will also be highly valued. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and advance innovative research, contribute meaningfully to departmental projects, publish in reputable journals, and actively collaborate with internal and external partners.
POST B: MOLECULAR MICROBIOLOGY (1 POST)
Applicants must be holders of at least an upper second class BSc (Honours) degree in Biotechnology or Biological Sciences or Applied Biology with an MSc/MPhil in Biotechnology or Applied Microbiology that includes strong training in molecular biology, bioinformatics and microbiology. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct both independent and collaborative research in fields such as antibiotic resistance, medical microbiology, bioinformatics and related areas. Possession of a PhD or publications in any of these fields will be considered a strong advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and advance innovative research, contribute meaningfully to departmental projects, publish in reputable journals, and actively collaborate with internal and external partners.
- TECHNICIAN/SENIOR TECHNICIAN (3 POSTS)
Department of Applied Biology and Biochemistry
Applicants should be holders of a National Diploma in Applied Biological Technology and have 3 years’ post-qualification experience or be holders of a Degree in Applied Biology and Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or Biotechnology and have at least one year industrial work experience. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage. The candidate will be expected to supervise laboratory and workshop activities, prepare equipment or chemicals for practicals and research work, supervise and train Technical Assistants, calibrate and standardize equipment or apparatus, manage inventory of consumables and advising on re-order levels and procuring chemicals and equipment for the department
