The National University of Science and Technology (NUST), through its Graduate School of Business Sciences (GSBS), is all ready and set to host the highly anticipated Inter-Gender Symposium 2026 this Friday the 12th of June 2026 at the NUST Ceremonial Hall Foyer in Bulawayo.
Held under the theme, "Unity in Diversity: Bridging Genders • Building Futures", the symposium seeks to provide a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue on gender inclusivity, leadership, and the role of diverse perspectives in shaping sustainable and equitable societies.
As conversations around gender continue to evolve globally and locally, the symposium comes at a critical time when institutions, organisations, and communities are increasingly recognising the value of inclusive leadership and collaborative decision-making. The event will bring together professionals, academics, students, policymakers, faith leaders, business executives, and aspiring leaders to engage in thought-provoking discussions on the opportunities and challenges associated with gender diversity in leadership and development.
Delivering the keynote address will be Mr Robert Sibanda, former Headmaster of Mzilikazi High School, whose distinguished career in education and leadership development has earned him widespread respect across Zimbabwe. His address is expected to provide valuable insights into leadership, mentorship, and the importance of creating environments where all individuals can thrive and contribute meaningfully.
The symposium will also feature a distinguished panel of speakers comprising Virginia Muwanigwa, Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Gender Commission; Keith Heywood, Founder and Managing Director of skillUP24; Bishop Sarah Nyathi of Harvest House International; and Dr Petty Silitshena, former College Principal. The programme will be directed by Mrs Nanzelelo Ndlovu.
Participants can expect engaging discussions that explore leadership, gender dynamics, inclusion, professional development, and the role of institutions in fostering equitable opportunities for all. Beyond the presentations and panel discussions, the symposium will provide a valuable networking opportunity for attendees to interact with thought leaders, professionals, and fellow participants from diverse backgrounds.
According to the organisers, the event is designed not only for individuals currently occupying leadership positions but also for young men and women aspiring to become future leaders. By bringing together voices from different sectors and experiences, the symposium aims to encourage constructive dialogue and inspire practical approaches to building more inclusive workplaces, communities, and institutions.
The Inter-Gender Symposium reflects NUST's ongoing commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, social responsibility, and the advancement of conversations that contribute to national development and societal progress.
As Zimbabwe continues to navigate an increasingly interconnected and diverse world, initiatives such as the Inter-Gender Symposium provide important opportunities to examine how unity, mutual respect, and inclusive leadership can serve as foundations for a stronger and more prosperous future.
