A 2026 Bachelor of Science in Computer Science graduate from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Tanyaradzwa Tanatswa Mushonga, is appealing for help to raise US$12,000 for urgent skull base surgery.
Tanyaradzwa has been diagnosed with a cholesterol granuloma, a growth at the base of the skull that has grown over the years and is now pressing on the nerves of his face and ear.
According to his medical report, the condition has left him with paralysis on one side of his face, complete hearing loss in his left ear, inability to fully close his eye, and severe daily headaches. His neurosurgeon has advised that he undergoes surgery to remove the growth.
Tanyaradzwa says his family cannot raise the required amount alone.
“I am appealing to well-wishers, friends and the public to help me get this surgery. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference,” he said.
Well-wishers can assist through EcoCash or Mukuru on 0780137696, InnBucks on 0712389290, or via ZB Bank Nostro Account 430400943187405 and ZiG Account 430400943187200 (Branch: 21 Natal Road, Avondale, Branch Code 4304, SWIFT: ZBCOZWHXXXX). Those abroad can send via Western Union, Remitly, WorldRemit or Mukuru to Tanyaradzwa Tanatswa Mushonga on +263780137696, Zimbabwe.
The surgery will be done locally but the family is exploring other options like South Africa, India and Zambia.
