My research focuses on characterization of enzymes that degrade lignocellulosic material for efficient microbial fermentation of lignocellulosic-based agro-waste.  Microbial fermentation of lignocellulosic based agro-waste can produce value added products like biofuels, organic acids, enzymes and antibiotics.   The main aim of the research is to develop and optimize lignocellulosic based agrowaste (corn waste) as a substrate for the production of biofuels and value added products using biological catalysts (enzymes). Furthermore, I have interests in the characterization of plant adenylyl cyclases, enzymes that catalyses the conversion of ATP to cAMP, they are key components in plant cell signalling in biotic and abiotic stress environmental conditions.
