Biography
Prof. Cornelias Ncube is an accomplished academic and strategic leader with over 20 years’ experience in higher education, research, and development policy across Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Eswatini. Currently, the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences and an Associate Professor of Development Studies at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), he brings a rare blend of scholarly depth, policy expertise, and institutional leadership. Holding a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Birmingham and advanced qualifications in international development, sustainable development and gender studies, Prof. Ncube’s work spans governance, African politics, inclusive development, climate justice, and gender-responsive monitoring and evaluation. He has successfully led high-impact, externally funded research and consultancy projects with global partners such as Diakonia, Plan International, Crossroads International, UN Women, WIOMSA, and the Alliance Biodiversity & CIAT.
A respected mentor, Prof. Ncube has supervised over 100 postgraduate students and published widely in peer-reviewed journals, translating evidence into actionable policy and practical solutions. His leadership in curriculum innovation, quality assurance, and cross-sector partnerships has strengthened institutional performance, enhanced graduate employability, and expanded the reach of African scholarship globally. As a UNDP Global Policy Network Vetted Expert, he is committed to advancing academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the transformation of knowledge into societal and industrial impact.
