Faculty Of The Built Environment

The Faculty consists of three Departments namely Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design and Quantity Surveying. 

In 2015 the Faculty remained committed to the creation of a health, beautiful and life enhancing built environment through the production of quality graduates who are empowered to shoulder their professional responsibility to society with sound judgement and sensitive to the developmental needs of the country. 

Departments within the Faculty are dedicated to academic formation, creative and intellectual development, and professional preparation of each individual student, so empowering them to shoulder their future responsibilities, whether as practising professionals, academic, administrators, researchers or citizens, with confidence, sound judgement, secure knowledge, and sensitivity to the needs of the community and of the environment..
For admission to any undergraduate programme, applicants normally should have passed the ZIMSEC/Cambridge School Certificate examination or equivalent, and have five ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics at grade ‘C’ or better.
All students admitted to study for undergraduate degree programmes at NUST undergo a period of twelve months full-time industrial attachment in their penultimate year as part of the academic programme of study.
No exemptions shall be allowed for any course on the basis of courses that were taken at undergraduate level or any programme of study that is deemed to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree. 
In exceptional cases,recommendations for exemption shall be sought from the Senate for courses that have been undertaken at postgraduate level and are deemed equivalent to courses being offered in this programme.
All departments in the faculty have provision for mature entry students which vary-hence interested prospective candidates are advised to consult the relevant departments for further particulars. All undergraduate programmes in this Faculty are  fully semesterised.
