Prestige High School and Eastview High School Project Isigcino

At Prestige High School in Cowdray Park and Eastview High School in Mahatshula, Project Isigcino brought climate action to life through a hands on, youth-led programme that blended learning with meaningful action. By engaging directly with students and educators, the team sparked conversations around climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals, and responsible waste management, inspiring young people to see themselves as active guardians of the planet.

The initiative culminated in the planting of 45 trees across both school grounds, creating greener, more resilient learning spaces and a lasting symbol of hope for the future. By combining education with action, Project Isigcino empowered learners to take ownership of environmental stewardship while nurturing a culture of sustainability that will continue to grow long after the project’s completion.
