Department collaborations
The department is always working on establishing collaborations with all stakeholders including industry and research institutes. Some of our collaborations include;
- An Erasmus programme on teaching and learning mobility for higher education students and staff with the University of Oradea in Romania (2022-2027). The department has sent members of staff and students, and has hosted two distinguished academics from the University of Oradea.
- The department is part of the technical committee, working on the formulation SADC Leather Sector Working Group (LSWG) which seeks to synergize leather stakeholders within the SADC region. The department will be working closely with the Academia wing in the Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) to form research groups that will work on developing industry targeted research for the leather sector and also together with Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) to provide a link between the farmer, tanner, and the leather products manufacturer, academia and the consumers to enhance exports leather products in Africa.
