The University wishes to advise all Graduands that the 2021 (Blended) Graduation Ceremony will be held on the 19^th of November 2021 starting at 0900 hours. Punctuality is essential, all Graduands should be seated by 0830 hours. Late arrivals may not be allowed to attend the ceremony.

In the light of the Covid-19 pandemic and in line with WHO guidelines and government regulations, the 2021 Graduation will mainly be virtual, with selected Graduands being capped physically at the Ceremonial Hall.

Safety Precautions Against Covid-19 Pandemic

1. Invited Graduands are expected to bring a Covid-19 vaccination certificate and a negative Covid-19 test done in the past 24 hours before the commencement of the Ceremony. All invited graduands are expected to undergo Covid-19 test on campus during the rehearsal day (18 November 2021). Graduands kindly note that your guests will also undergo a Covid-19 test on campus on the Graduation day.
2. Those Graduands who are yet to vaccinate are encouraged to visit the nearest health centre or NUST Clinic to get vaccinated before the Ceremony.
3. There will be temperature checking and sanitisation at all points of entry.
4. Social distancing shall be observed at all times on Campus and wearing of masks shall be compulsory.

The following Graduands will formally be invited for physical capping:

• All DPhil/PhD Graduands
• All MPhil Graduands
• All MSc/MBA Graduands with Distinctions from across all Faculties
• All Undergraduates with a First Class Division across all Faculties
• All Graduands receiving graduation prizes

Virtual Participation

The rest of the Graduands will join online and participate in the Ceremony from the comfort of their homes. The ceremony will be live-streamed on this website,  NUST Facebook page @NUST.ZIM and twitter @nustzim.

Graduation Rehearsals

Rehearsals for invited Graduands will be held on Thursday 18 November 2021 at the Ceremonial hall at 1000 hours. Attendance at the rehearsal is mandatory as it will ensure that Graduands know exactly what to do on graduation day.

Collection of Invitation Cards

Graduands are advised to collect their invitation cards and NUST branded face masks on the rehearsal day (18 November, 2021) from Admissions and Student Records offices.

Graduands’ Guest

Due to Covid-19 regulations which limits the number of attendees in a gathering, each Graduand will be allowed to invite one guest.

Photographers

Only authorised photographers from the University will be allowed to take photographs during the ceremony.

Academic Dress

Invited Graduands will be expected to be in full graduation regalia, that is, a gown, cap and hood and also wear a face mask (NUST branded).

Graduation Fee

The graduation fee is USD30 or Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWL) equivalent at the prevailing (RBZ) exchange rate. All Graduands must pay the graduation fee regardless of whether they graduate physically or virtually. The deadline for the payment of the Graduation Fee is 12 November 2021. Graduands are reminded to clear all outstanding fees. Foreign graduands to pay the Graduation fee in forex. Graduands kindly note that Graduation fee is to be paid separate from the balance on fees.

NB: When making payment kindly indicate your student number, name and details of payment on the deposit slip.
