Hon. Prof. Mthuli Ncube paid NUST a visit  to appreciate NUST efforts towards fighting COVID-19. Together with Resident Minister, Hon. Judith Ncube, they applauded the University for playing its part, amidst various challenges, in contributing to National efforts in the fight against the pandemic. NUST is also working with Byo-based SMEs in some of these activities.

NUST anti-COVID -19 activities include:
1. Applied Genetics Testing Centre- testing for COVID-19 at the Mpilo Hospital site
2. Sanitiser Production
3. PPE manufacturing - (current products are face masks)
4. Repairing of ventilators, working with the UBH
