BSc (Hons) In Records & Archives Management Intake

Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Honours) In Records & Archives Management (Conventional/Block-Release)

Limited places are still available for late applications for admission into the above undergraduate programme in the Department of Records and Archives Management. Applications are invited from candidates who meet the specified entry qualifications. This is a four-year Honours degree programme offered either on conventional or block-release basis.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have the following qualifications (or equivalent)

  • Five ‘O’ Level passes including English Language
  • At least two ‘A’ level passes
  • An O’ Level pass in Mathematics is an added advantage.

Special Entry

  • Holders of the Zimbabwe Higher National Diploma in Records Management & Information Science; Records & Archives Management; Library & Information Science or an equivalent from the Polytechnics or the Technical Colleges (or their equivalent) who have passed the Diploma with merit (credits and distinctions) in half of the programme courses may qualify for entry into part II of the BSc Honours Degrees Programme in Records & Archives Management.
  • Holders of the Zimbabwe National Diploma in Records Management & Information Science; Records & Archives management; Library & Information Science or an equivalent from the Polytechnics or the Technical Colleges (or their equivalent) who have passed the Diploma with merit (credits and distinctions) in half of the programme courses and have at least 2 years relevant working experience may qualify for entry into part I of the BSc Honours Degrees Programme in Records & Archives Management. 

Mature Entry

  • Persons who are at least 25 years of age on the first day of the academic year in which admission is sought and who are not eligible for entry under the Normal or Special Entry Regulations may qualify for Mature Entry provided that:-
  • Applicants must have passed at least five approved ‘O’ level subjects including English Language (or equivalents) and must have demonstrated potential suitability for university studies by virtue of their attainments and/or relevant work experience. 
  • Normally, applicants should have completed their full-time school or college education at least five years before the start of the academic year in which admission sought.

Applicants who wish to be considered under the Mature Entry provisions may be required to attend interviews and/or special tests at the University designed to assess their command of the English Language, numeracy and reasoning ability and general suitability for admission to Bachelor’s degree studies.  Applicants who have previously attended Mature Entry tests and/or interviews without success will not be considered for admission under this form of entry unless in the intervening period they have acquired additional qualifications and/or experience

Applicants should complete the application forms and submit their applications accompanied by the proof of payment of the late application fee of $30, together with certified copies of the following documents:

  1. Birth certificate
  2. National ID
  3. ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level certificates/result slips
  4. Relevant certificate and/or diploma qualification(s) for special entry applicants.
