About the Records & Archives Management Department

The department of Records and Archives Management was established following recommendations by Williams Commission in 1989.The department commenced in 2004 and had its first intake in the same year.

BSc Honours in Records and Archives Management
Entry Requirements

  • Five “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics
  • A minimum of two “A” Level passes.
  • Special Entry: Holders of Zimbabwe Higher National Diploma in Records Management and Information Science; Records  and Archives Management ; Library and Information Science or an equivalent from the Polytechnic colleges or the Technical Colleges (or their equivalent) who have passed the Diploma with merit (credits and distinctions) in half of the programme

MSc in Records and Archives Management
Entry Requirements
  • Candidates with a Lower Second 2.2 Class Honours Degree in the above areas will be required to have at least two years post-qualification experience.
  • Hold an Upper Second 2.1 Class Honours Degree In Records and Archives Management; Records Management; Archival Science; Information Studies; History or Heritage Studies from an accredited University or higher education institution.
  • Candidates with any other good first degree in the field other than those listed in section in the first requirement above will be required to have at least two years post-qualification practical experience in a records and archives establishment for consideration to be admitted into the Master of Science Degree programme.
