Programmes in the department shall normally include one academic year of supervised Industrial Attachment approved by the Departmental Board, in the penultimate year of the undergraduate course. The implementation of Industrial Attachment programme shall be as provided by the Faculty of Applied Sciences Regulations.
A student who fails the Industrial Attachment Part shall not proceed to the Final Year of the Degree Programme.
During industrial attachment the student will be subject to the company’s regulations. The company will be requested to provide the student every opportunity to function like a full-time employee and permit him/her to actively participate in all aspects of the business including management and administration except where conﬁdentiality constraints may not permit his/her participation.
Students who enrol into programs in the department are normally attached in areas like:
- Instrumentation and control
- Mining and exploration
- Radiation sciences
- Research and development
- Renewable energy
