International Conference on Communication and Information Science - 2018

The Faculty of Communication and Information Science at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) will be hosting its 8th annual International Conference on Communication and Information Science. This conference to be run under the theme: Safeguarding Cultural Heritage for Sustainable Development will be held at the HICC in Harare,Zimbabwe, from the 21st to the 23rd of August 2018. The conference is a forum where leading academics, scientists, researchers and research scholars exchange and share their experiences and research results on the highlighted theme and subthemes. The conference is a platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted to collectively attend to social and economic challenges and solve national, regional and global challenges.
 
In 2018 the Conference aims at exploring some of the critical issues related to culture and heritage today. In particular, the conference is to focus on research on tangible and intangible Cultural Heritage, the protection, restoration, preservation, digitalization, documentation and presentation of content on Cultural Heritage. Of particular interest will be topics of research that explore the acceptability of new sustainable approaches and new technologies. According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) cultural heritage is not only important for its cultural manifestation but more significantly for the wealth of knowledge and skills that it transmits from one generation to the next.
