NOTICE OF THE 2017 GRADUATION CEREMONY 

The Graduation Ceremony will be held at the Sports Field, at the University Campus on Friday, 03 November 2017. Rehearsals will be held on Thursday, 02 November, 2017 at the Sports Field at 1000 am. 

The Ceremony will start at 1000 hours promptly and is expected to last about two hours.  The Graduands should be seated by 0900 hours. 

Graduands should note the following: 

Graduation Ceremony:  The Graduands and Guests are to be seated by 0900 hours. 

Academic Dress:  Only Graduands in the approved NUST Academic Dress will be allowed to take part in the Graduation Ceremony.

DEAN: FACULTY OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT(1 POST)

The Faculty of The Built Environment consists of the following Departments: - Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design and Quantity Surveying. 

The post of Dean is a full-time high-level position to be held for a period of four years in the first instance. The Dean reports to the Vice-Chancellor and is a member of the Senior Administrative team of the University. The Dean is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Financial Officer of the Faculty, and will be responsible for research and academic leadership; administration and management; community outreach; income generation and financial management of the Faculty. A proven track record of achievement in the above areas is desirable.

The ideal candidate should possess academic and/ or professional qualifications from an approved institution, preferably to the level of a Doctorate Degree in one of the disciplines offered by the Faculty and be at least at Senior Lecturer Grade (or have credentials that would qualify him/her for appointment at that level). In addition, the candidate should have the following attributes:- a proven track record of successful academic and administrative leadership skills; demonstrated ability to work in a team;  proven commitment to academic excellence and collaboration across disciplines; ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, academic staff, administrators and external constituencies; demonstrated ability to forge partnerships and garner support from campus, business and community constituencies leading to industrial attachment and employment opportunities for students and generating external funding for research and teaching... read more


CERTIFICATE IN THEORY OF ACCOUNTING (CTA) IN COLLABORATION WITH NORTH WEST UNIVERSITY (SOUTH AFRICA) 

Entry requirements 

To be admitted to the full- time CTA programme the student:- 

  • Must have obtained a good degree in Accounting, or an equivalent degree and the degree must be obtained within 3-5 years as approved by the Faculty Board.  This degree must, as a minimum, include the following modules(or equivalent courses):  Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting, Financial Management and Taxation, all at final year level; AND
  • Must have obtained a good pass in Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting, Financial Management and Taxation in his/her final year.  If any of the above-mentioned modules was passed by adjustment or condonement (including through the utilisation of a ‘third opportunity’ exam), then admission will be rejected. 

Duration of the CTA Programme will be one year full-time.  The programme will commence on the 15th January 2018. Those who have previously applied will be considered. 

THE PROGRAMME IS ACCREDITATED BY THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF ZIMBABWE
