The Faculty of Communication and Information Science at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Zimbabwe will be hosting its 9th Annual International Conference on Communication and Information Science from the 20th to the 22nd of August 2019. Inspired by the United Nations vision to attain sustainable development by 2030, this Conference is a forum for the creation and exchange of ideas and experiences on the critical role that information, knowledge and communication play in creating and sustaining economies. Technology cannot be left out of this discourse as it is the avenue through which modern communities and economies are connected; creating global citizens who must be cognisant of the need for peace and prosperity in a clean and safe environment. Information organisations offer a wide range of products and services to promote the attainment of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) together with their 169 targets. Equally, development stalls in the absence of information, knowledge and communication. We therefore invite papers and posters to speak to the role of the same in the implementation and attainment of selected SDGs as listed below.

  • Good Health and Well-Being
  • Quality Education
  • Gender Equality
  • Reduced Inequalities
  • Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • Responsible Production and Consumption
  • Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
