Welcome to the Department of Marketing, housed under the Faculty of Commerce of the National University of Science and Technology.

Programmes On Offer

At undergraduate level, the Department offers the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Marketing which is completed over a four year period.  To cater for the working class, the Department offers an evening class which runs parallel to the conventional class as well as an option to study on a block release basis all of which are completed over a period of 4 years.

On offer at post graduate level, is the Master of Science Degree in Marketing which is completed over a 2 year period on a block release basis. The Department has an option of offering the MSc in Marketing degree on a parallel (evening) programme depending on the demand for the programme.

The Department has invested considerable resources and energy to come up with a staff compliment of competent academic members and support staff.

Undegraduate Degree Programmes

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Degree in Marketing

Entry Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Five ‘O’ level passes including English and Mathematics (A, B, or C Grades)
  • ‘ A ‘ Level passes in at least two of the following subjects: Economics, Management of Business, Accounting, Mathematics or other commercial subjects deemed relevant by the University and the Department.

There is also provision for mature entry for persons who may not have the appropriate academic qualifications for entry but who have suitable or relevant post-school experience and who satisfy the University and the Department of their ability to complete a degree course satisfactorily

Master of Science [Msc.] Degree in Marketing

Entry Requirements

A good honours degree or equivalent from a recognized University in any business related field.  The MSc programme is not intended as an introductory course in Marketing.  Therefore to be considered for admission, a candidate must have completed their prerequisite degree, in the following courses:

  • Principles of Marketing
  • Principles of Management
  • Principles of Economics

and any of the following:

  • Business Finance, Statistics, Principles of Accounting, Quantitative Analysis for Business, Marketing Research.

Duration of Programme and Method of Delivery
The programme will normally be on a 24-month part-time basis. The programme will be presented in modular format over its duration, consisting of 13 full weeks of delivery (56 contact hours per module).  Students also have to complete a research dissertation.
